PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a screen appear in the state of floating in the air, and make a viewer receive an open feeling in design because the screen has no bezel, when viewing a flat image display device for displaying an image on the screen. SOLUTION: The flat image display device comprises: a device body part 4 which has a rectangular screen surface 4a for displaying an image on the front side and has an external form a little wider than the screen surface; a bracket 3 which holds the device body part and is formed of a transparent resin material having almost a plate-like frame 11 exposing the screen surface; a front panel 2 which is located on the front side of the screen surface of the device body and the frame of the bracket, having about the same external form as the frame, and being formed of a transparent material of which the sealing layer 9 covering the neighborhood of the borderline between the screen surface and the frame in a frame form is printed on the back side; and a cover 37 for the device body for covering the back of the device body, and is configured so as to include a transparent part allowing the rear of the device to be viewed in the outside the frame form shielding layer.
