PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device capable of totally evaluating a singing or musical performance by a trainee without partiality to a certain evaluation standard, and to provide a control method and a program. SOLUTION: A storage part 14 of a karaoke device 1 is provided with an accompaniment/lyrics data storage area 14a, a model voice data storage area 14b, a musical score data storage area 14c, and a trainee voice data storage area 14d. A CPU 11 of the karaoke device 1 makes a machine comparison between contents prescribed in a musical score and a singing by the trainee and a feeling comparison between a singing by a model singer and the singing by the trainee to evaluate the singing by the trainee based upon the relation between comparison results of the both.
