PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor to which a permanent magnet, that is easy to handle can be fixed surely to the outer peripheral surface of a rotor. SOLUTION: The synchronous motor, having a plurality of permanent magnets 5A on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 2 includes a resin-coating member 6 for coating the surface on the outer peripheral side of the permanent magnets 5A, in arranging them on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 2 of the permanent magnets 5A. Fixing parts 7, 8 to be fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 2 are provided at the opposite ends in the peripheral direction of the coating member 6, and a plurality of penetration holes 9 are formed in the fixing parts 7, 8 for inserting a screw 10 therethrough, to fix the coating member 6 and the permanent magnets 5A to the rotor 2.
