PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission chain configuring method in a 3GPP2 communication system, in which an information bitstream is mapped to an interleaver size in a variable or multivariable data rate transmission mode on a physical layer. SOLUTION: The method for configurating a transmission chain during mapping of information bitstream to data rate on the physical layer in the 3GPP2 communications system, comprises the steps of channel-coding information bitstreams, having bit rates different from each other using any of a turbo code, having an inverse value of 1/coding rate and a convolutional code; and when the channel-coded bitstream has an interleaving size smaller than the desired size, the coded bitstream is repeated; and when the channel-coded bitstream has an interleaving size larger than the desired size, puncturing is performed.
