摘要 The invention concerns a method for making a honeycomb-type silicon carbide porous structure, said method being characterized in that it includes the following steps: forming a paste from a mixture of silicon carbide grains whereof the diameter d<SUB>50</SUB> ranges between 5 µm and 300 µm, of an organic binder, in the form of silica-based particles whereof the global porosity is higher than 70 %, shaping a crude honeycomb-shaped plastic monolith, drying said monolith and curing the monolith up to a temperature higher than 2100 °C. The structure obtained by the method may be used as catalytic support in a diesel or gas engine exhaust line or as particulate filter in a diesel engine exhaust line.
