摘要 |
A surface discharge type plasma display panel is provided to suppress a rising effect of firing voltage and to prevent discharge delay by using a protective layer including magnesium oxide crystal. A pair of substrates are opposite to each other in order to form a discharge space. A plurality of pairs of column electrodes and a plurality of pairs of row electrodes are arranged between the pair of substrates. A plurality of unit emission regions are formed in a discharge space corresponding to the intersections between the column electrodes and the row electrodes. A dielectric layer is formed to coat the row electrodes. A protective layer is formed to coat the dielectric layer and corresponds to the unit emission regions. The discharge space is filled with discharge gas. The dielectric layer is formed with a dielectric material having a relative dielectric constant of 9 or less. The protective layer includes magnesium oxide crystal which is excited by an electron beam in order to perform a cathode luminescence emission having a peak within a wavelength range of 200 to 300 nm.
