The high pressure reactor for treatment of biomass containing sludge, comprises sludge inlet (2), sludge outlet (3) and a gas supplying line (5) standing under pressure with a gas entry device consisting of gas nozzle (6) that is connected in the lower area of the reactor. The reactor is formed as a vertically aligned, elongated reactor with a diameter of 0.2-2 m and a height of 2-10 m. The sludge inlet and sludge outlet are arranged respectively at a longitudinal side end of the reactor. The supply line is placed in the lower area of the reactor.
