Authentication system using biometric information

An authentication system comprises a plurality of authentication devices (10a - 10d) connected one another via a communication line (51). A user inputs biometric information in the first authentication device (10a). The input biometric information is registered in the first authentication device (10a) and also is transmitted to the authentication devices (10b - 10d) from the first authentication device (10a). The transmitted biometric information is respectively registered in each of the authentication devices (10b - 10d). Upon conducting identity verification of a user, each of the authentication devices (10a - 10d) checks the biometric information newly input by the user with the biometric information registered in the authentication device.
