The electrically- propelled wheelchair has a symmetrical frame with upper (12) and lower (13) side frame members holding a motor driving the rear wheels (2). There is a swing-axle sprung suspension (17) with an extension arm (15) carrying anti-tipping safety wheels (18). There are small swiveling front wheels (1). The frame (16) for the seat (3) is supported on a tilting pivot (6) just behind its center of gravity. There is a tilt adjustment (11) at the front with a telescopic tube and a locking lever (26).
