METHOD CONVERTING COLOR SPACE OF IMAGE SIGNAL

A method for converting a color space of an image signal is provided to prevent previously the occurrence of underflow or overflow when processing multimedia data without increasing hardware. The first image parameter of the second image signal matrix is determined through a function obtained by multiplying conversion coefficients of the first row forming an image conversion matrix and image parameters constituting the first image signal matrix. The second image parameter of the second image signal matrix is determined through a function expressed by one of image parameters forming the first image signal matrix and the determined first image parameter of the second image signal matrix. The third image parameter of the second image signal matrix is determined through a function expressed by one image parameter, not used for determining the second image parameter of the second image signal matrix, selected among image parameters forming the first image signal matrix. The image parameters constituting the determined second image signal matrix are shifted by a predetermined bit and find the second image signal matrix.
