A method for managing an operation state of a wireless network is provided to simplify an ISR(Interrupt Service Routine) by realizing a state management function through a physical layer and a timer event. Physical interrupts, which possibly occur at a next stage for respective states, are determined. Links to the respective states are formed based on the determined physical interrupts. When the physical interrupts occur for the respective states, an operation state is shifted to a next linked state. When an interrupt due to a timer is generated at the respective states, the operation state is shifted to an initial state. When the physical interrupt occurs at the last state, the operation state is shifted to the initial state.
