IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE

A device and a method for processing an image are provided to restore stably additional information from a synthesized image created by inserting additional information into main information. Information about a synthesized image is decomposed into a plurality of color components. Frequency components of additional information are extracted from the decomposed color components of the main image information. The extracted frequency components from the decomposed color components are smoothed. One smoothing result is selected among smoothing results for the extracted frequency components. The selected smoothing result is normalized. The result of the normalizing process is output.
