A filter body suitable for a free drop type edible oil refiner, and a filter body for an edible oil refiner, which enables the filter body to be easily exchanged within the edible oil refiner, refines waste edible oil containing fatty acids and peroxides very effectively, and has excellent deodorizing effect and decoloring effect, are provided. A filter body(50) for an edible oil refiner comprises: a body(51) of which upper and lower parts are opened, which is made from a synthetic resin, and in which a housing space is formed; a mineral filter material(52) which is inserted into the body, and consists of sepiolite, zeolite and acid clay powders that have been finely pulverized and mixed with one another at a predetermined ratio to remove the fatty acids, peroxides and various heavy metals by refining waste edible oil containing fatty acids, peroxides and various heavy metals, and perform deodorizing and decoloring functions of the waste edible oil at the same time; first and second non-woven fabrics(53,54) for filtration that surround upper and lower portions of the mineral filter material, and close upper and lower openings of the body; and a plurality of cover meshes(55,56,57) supporting and fixing the first and second non-woven fabrics respectively.
