System for energy regeneration in a mobile device

A mobile device comprising: a hard disk (305,310); a motor (302) for spinning the hard disk; and a system for regenerating energy using the hard disk. The system (325) for regenerating energy using the hard disk may include: a switch (325) connected to the motor such that when the switch is in a first position, power flows from a power storage device to the motor to drive the motor and when the switch is in a second position, power flows from the motor based on kinetic energy of the spinning hard disk to the power storage device. The system for regenerating energy using the hard disk may be manufactured/combined with the hard disk and motor separately from the mobile device such that the system for regenerating energy may include the hard disk and motor.
