[Also in Divisions B5 and F4] A radiator is made by bending one or more metallic or non metallic bands joined together along the edges thereof, Fig. 1b, into a wave shaped heating or cooling unit, Fig. 3a, which is inflated by a liquid or gaseous fluid under pressure introduced through inlet and outlet connections provided on the band or bands before joining the edges thereof. The edges of one folded sheet or two superimposed sheets, flat or profiled, are welded together to form the unit, which is finally shaped by the pressure fluid in a mould. The wave shaped radiator may be formed with a series of interlinked enclosed spaces, Fig. 6b. The sheets are precoated with a corrosion inhibitor or an inhibitor is inserted in the pressure fluid. The radiator may be fitted with cooling fins. |
