A hard disc drive, a method for controlling read retry in the hard disc drive, and a recording medium of recording a computer program of performing the method are provided to change and employ at least one parameter based on a read retry table before a rotation angular speed of a spindle motor is decelerated, thereby preventing the performance of a hard disc drive from being degraded. Data recorded in a predetermined sector of a disc are read(S210). The angular speed of a spindle motor is decelerated to rotate and drive the disc. The reading operation of data recorded on the predetermined sector of the disc is retried. Errors of the sector are corrected by ECC(Error Correction Codes), and the reading operation of the data is performed(S221,S222,S230). The read retry operation is performed by employing at least one parameter according a read retry table which is previously made in preparation for the reading error of at least one data.
