A stretcher with a dedicated multi-functional removable floating patient support platform is described. The stretcher has a lower frame assembly and an upper frame assembly is vertically displaceable thereover in an adjustable manner. The patient support platform is a rigid rectangular platform having a substantial portion thereof constructed of radiolucent material. The patient support platform is supported on bearings and retained captive on a platform support structure, whereby to slide axially thereof. Restraining hingeable side frames are provided and permit the patient support platform to be displaced laterally on the bearings to permit the patient support platform to be transferred from the platform support structure laterally thereof, in an effortless support manner. |
