A plasma display panel is provided to improve largely picture quality thereof by increasing the number of pixels in a lateral direction without reducing a gap between barrier ribs. A plasma display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a barrier rib. The first substrate and the second substrate are opposite to each other. The barrier rib is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. A plurality of discharge cells are defined by the first substrate, the second substrate, and the barrier rib. A sectional surface of the discharge cell parallel to the first substrate is formed with a shape of rhombus. Two diagonal lines of the rhombus are parallel to edges of the first substrate.
