<p>A vacuum cleaner comprises a housing, a cleaning head assembly, a dirt collector, a suction source 22, a filter 302 positioned between the dirt collector and an inlet to the suction source 22 and an ultraviolet light source 324 positioned between the dirt collector and the filter 302 and wherein the UV light source 324 is positioned so as to illuminate the filter 302. The UV light source 324 is preferably annular and arranged so that the airstream generated by the suction motor 22 passes through the open centre of the annular UV light source 324. Also disclosed is a vacuum cleaner that comprises a working air path that is formed, at least in part, from a plastic material that includes at least one anti-microbial agent.</p> |
