<p>The method involves measuring an object (1) e.g. cable, that is to be marked with respect to its diameter (D) and/or diameter of a referred object provided as an input parameter. A self-adhesive label (7) is applied on a carrier tape, and is cross cut based on the determined diameter of the object that is to be marked. The label is taken off from the carrier tape and is wound around the object. The self-adhesive label is formed as a component of a transparent film (8). An independent claim is also included for a device for marking elongated objects such as cable, hoses, and pipes.</p> |
