The tray (1) is made from a foldable material, e.g. paper. The tray comprises a base portion (2), two supporting side walls (3, 4) and two non-supporting side walls (5, 6). Two horizontal support strips (7, 8) are attached to each supporting side wall. The tray is designed to be placed on top of the trolley. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing the tray by folding a blank, comprising the following steps: (A) folding the side walls in an upward direction from the plane of the base; (B) folding support strips from the upper edge of the supporting side walls in a direction parallel to the base; (C) joining the side walls together along corner joints; and (D) folding the overlapping parts of the side walls in a downward direction.
