PERPENDICULAR MAGNETIC HEAD AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME

A vertical magnetic head and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to more simply form a solenoid coil around a main pole in a manufacturing process and use a BCB(Bisbenzene Cyclobutene) process suitable for planarization and a CMP(Chemical Mechanical Polishing) process, thereby providing a vertical magnetic head having a stable structure. A vertical magnetic head includes the first insulating layer formed on a magnetic shield layer(221), the second insulating layer formed on the first insulating layer, and the third insulating layer formed on a gap layer. A servo yoke(201) is formed on the second insulating layer. A main pole is formed on the servo yoke(201). A bottom coil(BC) of the coil is interposed between the first and second insulating layers, and a top coil(TC) is formed on the third insulating layer. A return yoke is formed on the gap layer, the third insulating layer, and the top coil.
