An optical device assembly for optical receiver and a fabrication method thereof are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by removing an expensive element such as a lens cap or a stem. An optical device assembly for optical receiver includes a printed circuit board(100), a light receiving element(101), and a housing(103). The light receiving element is attached to and connected electrically to the printed circuit board. The housing is fixed to the printed circuit board in order to receive the light receiving element. The housing is coupled with an optical fiber(104) for transmitting the received light to the light receiving element. The light receiving element is formed with a photo diode. A ferrule optical fiber is coupled with the housing in order to transmit the received light with respect to the light receiving element.
