An apparatus and a method for generating a sense amplifier strobe signal of a semiconductor memory are provided to reduce time and cost by adjusting the pulse width and enable timing of the sense amplifier strobe signal simply through fuse cutting without revision work. A pulse width adjustment unit(100) receives a pulse signal and adjusts the pulse width of the pulse signal appropriately for at least one first control signal. A signal generation unit(200) generates a sense amplifier strobe signal by shifting the pulse signal output from the pulse width adjustment unit at a timing corresponding to at least one second control signal. The pulse signal is a read pulse generated according to a read command.
