<p>Method for storing an additive and injecting it into the exhaust gases of an engine supplied with fuel from a fuel tank (1) and returning the unused excess hot fuel to the said tank (1) via a return line (3), the said method consisting in heating the additive using a section (5) of the return line (3) when the additive temperature is below or equal to a threshold value Tl, and in short circuiting the heating section (5) when the additive temperature exceeds the threshold value Tl; system for implementing such a method and comprising: an additive heating section (5) which consists of a section of the return line (3); a temperature sensor (11); and a device (6, 8) allowing the heating section (5) to be short circuited when the temperature measured by the sensor (11) exceeds the threshold value Tl.</p> |
