A segment type OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) display device and a driving method thereof are provided to adjust brightness of segments by adjusting an output current based on a segment size, a driver, and a wire resistance. A segment type OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) display device includes a micro control unit(240), a driver(230), and an OLED panel(220). The micro control unit receives information, which is displayed in a display device, and generates a control signal for supplying selectively a current to an OLED, which is included in segments(200). The driver selectively supplies a current according to the control signal. The OLED panel displays information by illuminating the OLED. The micro control unit generates a control signal for supplying a current to the OLED using illuminating area information of the respective segments.
