METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MEASURING LOCATION USING ROUND TRIP TIME IN ASYNCHRONOUS WCDMA NETWORK

A method and a system for a location estimation using RTT(Round Trip Time) in an asynchronous WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) network are provided to estimate a location of a mobile terminal by interworking with an NMS(Network Management System) which stores antenna direction information and latitude/longitude of a repeater and a base station, therefore exact location estimation is available. A node B(606) calculates RTT information of a mobile terminal(600). An RNC(Radio Network Controller)(608) receives the RTT information of the terminal(600). A repeater(602) expands service coverage of the terminal(600). An NMS(616) stores at least one of direction information of an antenna and latitude/longitude data of the repeater(602) and the node B(606). A location estimation unit decides on a service area of the terminal(600) through intrinsic RTT information measured by an intrinsic RTT measurer(604) connected to the repeater(602) and the RTT information of the terminal(600), and estimates a location of the terminal(600) by using data stored in the NMS(616).
