A method for preparing a stainless separator for a fuel cell, and the stainless separator for a fuel cell prepared by the method are provided to improve corrosion resistance, durability and electrical conductivity. A method for preparing a stainless separator comprises the steps of preparing a stainless steel sheet; coating a composition comprising chromic anhydride(CrO3), a carbon powder, a water-soluble binder resin and water on the surface of the stainless steel sheet; and heat treating the coated stainless steel sheet under a reductive gas atmosphere to form a film comprising a chromium layer where carbon dispersed on the surface of the stainless steel sheet. Also a coating composition comprising chromic anhydride, nickel acid, a water-soluble binder resin and water can be used instead of the composition comprising chromic anhydride, a carbon powder, a water-soluble binder resin and water. |
