ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATION CONTAINING HIGH PERCENTILE PANAXADIOL FRACTION ISOLATED FROM KOREAN RED GINSENG BY ULTRAFILTRATION

An anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical composition comprising a panaxadiol-based saponin fraction is provided to secure excellent anti-inflammatory effect with little side effect. An anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical composition comprises a panaxadiol-based saponin fraction isolated from Korean red ginseng using an ultrafiltration device with a membrane filter cassette having a molecular weight of 5,000-100,000 or the panaxadiol-based saponin fraction and an extract of Artemisia asiatica Nakai as an effective ingredient. The characteristics of the panaxadiol-based saponin fraction are as follows : (i) it is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and methanol, and insoluble in ether and chloroform; (ii) it has the pH of 4.3-4.7; and (iii) it has the UV absorption in 0.1% aqueous solution at lambdamax of 270-280 nanometers.
