PURPOSE: A driving circuit is provided to supply a stabilized radio frequency signal to a panel by adjusting matching level in accordance with the luminance level detected by field or frame units. CONSTITUTION: A circuit comprises an A/D converter(60) for sampling and outputting an analog video signal; a video signal processing unit(62) for converting the sampling signal output from the A/D converter into a bit signal and outputting the signal to be suitable for a PDP(72); a data driving unit(64) for supplying the driving signal corresponding to the video signal input from the video signal processing unit to address electrode lines of the PDP; a scan driving unit(74) for supplying scanning signal to scanning electrode lines of the PDP; a radio frequency generator(66) for generating a radio frequency signal and outputting the radio frequency signal to an amplifier(68); the amplifier for amplifying the radio frequency signal generated from the radio frequency generator and outputting the amplified signal to a matching unit(76); the matching unit for matching impedance between the amplifier and the PDP so that the maximum power radio frequency signal is supplied to the radio frequency electrode lines of the PDP; an average luminance level detection unit(78) for averaging the sampling signal output from the A/D converter into field or frame unit; and a control unit(80) for controlling the matching level of the matching unit in accordance with the average luminance level. |
