A telephone number guide method using DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) tone recognition in a mobile communication network is provided to be capable of simultaneously delivering voice announcement and a DTMF tone corresponding to a telephone number to be guided, if a user wants to receive a telephone number guide service through a terminal, thus the terminal can automatically recognize the tone to store the tone in a recent call list. If a user of a mobile communication terminal inputs a telephone number, the terminal attempts call connection to a telephone number guide server(S101). If a telephone number guide selects voice announcement delivery and a DTMF tone of a telephone number as the user inquires about the telephone number to be guided as a voice, the guide server simultaneously transmits voice announcement and the corresponding DTMF tone(S102). The terminal automatically recognizes the DTMF tone to store the recognized tone, and outputs the voice announcement to the user(S103).
