A fuel cell bus system, and a method for controlling the fuel cell bus system are provided to reduce the number of an electric power distribution device and a relay connected with the electric power distribution device. A fuel cell bus system comprises a fuel cell stack(110) which generates electric power; a motor control unit(160); a super-capacitor(120) which charges the generated electric power to provide it to the motor control unit; a power distribution device(180) which is arranged between the fuel cell stack, the motor control unit and the super-capacitor to provide the energy of the fuel cell stack to the motor control unit and the super-capacitor selectively; and a braking resistor(190) and a chopper(200) which are arranged between the motor control unit and the super-capacitor and are used as an auxiliary braking unit, wherein the chopper comprises a first insulating gate polar transistor and a second insulating gate polar transistor connected in parallel between the fuel cell stack and the super-capacitor, and the braking resistor is connected between the first insulating gate polar transistor and the second insulating gate polar transistor. |
