The seat (1) has an understructure (2) with a backrest (5) and a seat base (4) having a free edge (44). The base has a front part (43) extending towards the backrest and a rear part extending from the front part up to the backrest. The front part is mounted movably between a normal position in which it forms continuity with the rear part and an eclipse position in which the free edge is distant at the level of a front edge of the understructure or closer to the backrest. The free edge is raised relative to the rear part and is oriented towards the seat front, in the eclipse position.
