[PROBLEMS] An airbag inflated and expanded over the head of a vehicle occupant, in which a head protection area is expanded to enhance side protection performance for the occupant's head. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The airbag (11) has a first panel (35A) placed on the occupant side and a second panel (35B) placed on the side opposite the occupant, wherein the first and second panels (35A, 35B) are joined together. The airbag (11) has a first airbag (11A) and a second airbags (11B, 11B). The first airbag (11) has a first chamber (42) formed between the first panel (35A) and the second panel (35B) and placed on the upstream side in the flow direction of gas supplied from an inflator (13) and also has side sections (11S, 11S) inflated and expanded to the sides of the head (2A) of the occupant. The second airbags (11B, 11B) have second chambers (43, 43) formed between the joined first and second panel (35A, 35B), placed on the downstream side in the flow direction of the gas supplied from the inflator (13), and inflated and expanded over the head (2A) of the occupant(2). |
