[PROBLEMS] To provide an immunostimulating agent capable of imparting a potent chemotactic activity to a leukocyte such as a macrophage. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A solution containing a pulverized "mekabu" (sporophyll of "wakame seaweed" (Undaria pinnatifida)) component is treated with an enzyme to hydrolyze a protein contained in the solution. The solution is then centrifuged to extract a supernatant fraction, thereby a polysaccharide extract solution can be prepared. The polysaccharide extract solution is centrifuged to extract a precipitate fraction. The precipitate fraction is further separated into four fractions A, B, C and D in accordance with elution peaks by anion exchange chromatography. Among these fractions, fraction D which has the highest anionic degree is extracted.
|
