The invention concerns a method for detecting a telecommunication signal received on a frequency band including: a step (12) of estimating in time a centered autocorrelation function of a signal received on said frequency band; a step (20) of determining a statistical indicator representing the cyclic character of the centered autocorrelation function; a step (26) of comparing the statistical indicator with a predetermined threshold; and a step (28) of determining an indicator of said frequency band occupation based on the result of the comparison.
