Information equipment comprises a display device, having a display memory property and undergoing a passive or active drive by which each scan electrode is sequentially addressed, and a position detecting device for detecting a position of an input means. The information equipment updates display information on the display device in correspondence to the input from the position detecting device. In the information equipment, upon updating the display information, a plurality of the scan electrodes are simultaneously selected. This prevents the imaging speed from decreasing even in the display device that undergoes a passive or active drive by which each scan electrode is sequentially addressed.
