In a plasma display panel, a front substrate (22) and a back substrate (23) face each other, one side of an exhaust pipe (21) is arranged in the vicinity of a fine hole (30) arranged on the back substrate through a tablet (32) to be a sealing material formed of a frit glass, the circumference of the front substrate and the back substrate and the exhaust pipe are sealed with a sealing material to form a discharge space, the discharge space is exhausted by the exhaust pipe, and the discharge space is filled with a discharge gas. The back substrate and the exhaust pipe are sealed by a sealing section (35) by melting the tablet composed of an amorphous frit glass not containing lead, and a stress operating to the sealing portion is a tensile force in a direction to the back substrate and that in a direction to the exhaust pipe.
