摘要 <p>Method of electrochemical detection of target nucleic acid sequences: comprises providing a biological sample (34) containing the nucleic acid capable of containing a target sequence; mixing the sample being mixed with an oxidant, in which the target sequence comprising at least an oxidizable nucleotide base; providing complementary means to couple with the target sequence; applying an electric field to the sample, where the electric field is initiates an oxidation reaction between the oxidant and the nucleotide base; and measuring the electrical current, which traverses the sample. Method of electrochemical detection of target nucleic acid sequences: comprises providing a biological sample containing the nucleic acid capable of containing a target sequence; mixing the sample with an oxidant, in which the target sequence comprising at least an oxidizable nucleotide base; providing complementary means to couple with the target sequence; applying an electric field to the sample, where the electric field initiates an oxidation reaction between the oxidant and the nucleotide base; and measuring the electrical current, which traverses the sample. The complementary means comprise activable amplification means to replicate the target sequence. The amplification means comprise nucleotides, which include the nucleotide base, where the nucleotides are consumed during the replication to constitute replicated nucleic acids. The method comprises mixing the sample and the oxidant with the activable amplification means; and activating the activable amplification units to determine the presence of the target sequence if the electrical current decreases. An independent claim is included for an assembly for the electrochemical detection of the target nucleic acid sequence comprising biological sample receiver (30), complementary means to couple with the sequence, an electric field applying unit (38) and an electric current measuring unit (42).</p>
