PHOTOMULTIPLIER AND RADIATION DETECTING APPARATUS

A vacuum container of a photomultiplier is constituted by airtightly bonding a light receiving surface plate (13) on one side end of a side tube (15), and a stem (29) on the other side end through a tube-like member (31). In the vacuum container, a photoelectric surface (14), a focusing electrode (17), dynodes (Dy1-Dy12), an extracting electrode (19) and an anode (25) are arranged. An exhaust tube (40) is connected to the stem (29) at the center. The exhaust tube (40) is provided with an outer tube (41) and an inner tube (43), which are coaxially arranged and connected each other on the side of the stem (29). The outer tube (41) has excellent adhesiveness with the stem (29), and since the inner tube (43) is thin and a small stress is applied when being cut, bonding with the vacuum container is not deteriorated when sealing the exhaust tube (40).
