The invention relates to local computer networks, in particular to home networks based on universal serial buses. Said invention makes it possible to extend the distance and improve the reliability of the computer connection with peripheral devices by compensating signal distortions in a cable by equalizer circuits. The inventive device is embodied in the form of an universal serial bus comprising a cable provided with signal propagation lines, power buses and plug connections on the ends thereof for connecting peripheral devices to a personal computer, the microchip of a controller for controlling transmittable data flows, which is arranged in a peripheral device, microchips-repeaters which are arranged in the personal computer and in the peripheral device and are used for matching impedances of the cable and controllers and for converting signal levels from the outputs of the controller microchips which also comprise at least one equaliser circuit for compensating signal distortions in the cable.
