Provided are an optical pickup device by which heat dissipation efficiency can be further improved, and an optical disc device provided with an optical pickup device. The optical pickup device is provided with a base (110), a laser unit (141), an optical system (140) for propagating laser beams, and an adjusting member (142). Furthermore, the optical pickup device is provided with a heat dissipating member (146), which is fixed on a heat dissipating plane (141b) of the laser unit and transfers heat from the heat dissipating plane to the adjusting member. Thus, heat generated at the laser unit is transferred to the adjusting member through the heat dissipating member, and further to the base, and heat is more efficiently dissipated from the laser unit.
