<p>A method for killing, preventing, or inhibiting the growth of algae in an aqueous system is provided by providing a haloperoxidase, and hydrogen peroxide or a peroxide source to a chlorinated water system under conditions in which the haloperoxidase, peroxide from the hydrogen peroxide or peroxide source, and chloride ions or chloroamines in the chlorinated water system interact to provide an antialgal agent.</p> |
