The brake (1) has an armature (6) mounted on a releasing device using helical springs (5), and a brake disk (4) mounted on a shaft (7). The springs act on the armature to connect the armature with the disk. The device attracts the armature to release the disk when the device is supplied with current. A microswitch (8) triggers a signal during undesired rotation of the armature. A tension arm (9) is connected to the armature and maintains the microswitch in open position. The arm is moved away from the microswitch using a pull off spring during verification and maintenance of the brake.
