METHOD FOR DISPLAYING DATA EXTRACTED FROM A DOCUMENT CONSISTING OF REPORTS AND RECEIVER IMPLEMENTING SAID METHOD

The invention concerns a method for displaying images extracted from an audio-visual document recorded in an apparatus. The recorded document comprises at least one report including at the beginning a first video sequence having a particular characteristic, such as the image of an announcer. Said first video sequence comprising only a limited informative content, the invention consists in selecting at least one extracted image of the report but not of the first video sequence, and in creating and displaying a composite image including both the first video sequence with the announcer and at least one image extracted from the report. An improvement consists in that said first video sequence is derived from a summary of the document, images of the report are added to the images of the summary to increase the informative content thereof. The invention also concerns a receiver for implementing said method.
