The present invention refers to a blade for an ice skate provided with a contact zone (4; 104; 204) that has a substantially continuous extension and it is adapted to contact a hard resting surface; the blade (3; 103; 203) extends along an axis (A) that is essentially longitudinal relative to the forward-moving direction. The contact zone (4; 104; 204) is provided with at least one engagement and sliding portion (4c; 104c, 104d, 104e; 204c) adapted to enable the blade (3; 103; 203) to engage and slide upon an elongated body along a direction that is generally transversal relative to the longitudinal axis (A).
