A movable stripper for a progressive mold and a method of machining the same are provided to form a punch through hole in a stripper plate of the movable stripper more efficiently such that a punch passes through the punch through hole, and a stripper plate that guides the front end position of the punch more accurately is provided. In a progressive mold comprising a lower die holder on which a lower die retainer with a die is mounted, and an upper die holder on which an upper die retainer with a punch is mounted in such a manner that the lower die holder and the upper die holder face each other and are reciprocally movable to each other, a movable stripper for the progressive mold is characterized in that machined slits(38) having a width and a length corresponding to diameter and radius(R) of a tool for forming the punch through hole respectively are formed from apexes corresponding to corners(37) of a punch through hole(36) to an outer side of the punch through hole in a stripper plate(34) composing a movable stripper which is spaced from the upper die retainer in a predetermined distance and supported to the upper die holder such that the movable stripper presses the raw material onto a die earlier than the punch when the punch hits a raw material placed on a die and separates from the raw material later than the punch when the punch separates from the die.
