A method of forming a titanium oxide coating, comprising bringing a water having oxygen dissolved therein into contact with a treatment object equipment having at least its surface layer constituted of a titanium material at 100°C to 250°C. Further, there is provided an equipment having at least its surface layer constituted of a titanium material wherein a titanium oxide coating is provided by the above method of forming a titanium oxide coating.
