<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aspheric surface lens capable of effectively condensing such as a stray light component of a light source such as LED to obtain a desired illuminance without using a reflecting mirror at the periphery of a lens medium. <P>SOLUTION: A bulk type lens 20 of such as shell type and egg shaped is composed of a bulk type lens medium 4 having a periphery made of an exterior crowning portion 3, bottom portion, and side surface of parallel direction to the optical axis, and housing portion 6 provided in the lens medium 4 from the bottom portion toward the exterior crowning portion 3.A recess top portion 2 and recess sidewall portion 5 of a housing portion 6 installed in the lens medium 4 functions as a first lens surface (2, 5), and the exterior crowning portion 3 of the lens medium 4 functions as a second lens surface 3.
