PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling type joint capable of being applied to plural kinds of connecting pipes having different materials, and exhibiting prescribed pressure resistance performance. SOLUTION: This coupling type joint is provided with an elastically deformable housing 2 obtained by molding a thin sheet comprising a metallic material exhibiting corrosion resistance to have a C-shaped cross section, a fastening member 3 for fastening the housing 2, packing 4 housed in an inside of the housing 2, and a retentive member 5 attached to both sides of the packing. The retentive member 5 includes grip rings 7a and 7b having a plurality of locking claws 71a and 71b tilted from an end surface of the housing to the inside, and the grip rings 7a and 7b are press-formed of the thin sheet comprising the metallic material exhibiting corrosion resistance by pressing, and hardness of an edge part formed on an end of the locking claw is larger than other parts.
